Jawaharlal Nehru

Nehru is both a freedom fighter and also the first Prime Minister of India and one of the important leaders in Indian politics during before and after the independence. Guzarilal Nanda

Guzarilal Nanda is born during the month of July 4th, 1898 in Sialkot which is now in Pakistan. He is an economist by his profession as the professor of Economics at National College in Bombay during 1921. Also, he is known for his research work at Allahabad University. In the year of 1952, he was elected to parliament during the general election and later appointed as the Minister of irrigation, power, and planning.

Guzarilal Nanda

He was worked two times as the acting prime minister for each time on a 13 days period during the death of Jawaharlal Nehru and Bahadur Shastri. Moreover, he was honored India’s highest award of Bharat Ratna in the year of 1997 due to his contribution to the Indian government and society.

Charan Singh

Chaudhary Charan Singh was the 6th Prime Minister of India. He entered politics importantly for the Independence movement. Rajiv Gandhi

Rajiv Gandhi is one of the youngest and the 7th PM of India who becomes Prime Minister at the age of 40. He is the eldest son of the Indira and the Feroze Gandhi. Rajiv Gandhi was not an interested person in politics. the only has shown his interest in politics when his brother was killed in a plane crash. Also, he becomes the president of the Indian Youth Congress. Soon after his mother Indira Gandhi was assassinated he participated in Lok Sabha election for Congress and won by 404 out of 533 seats which are taken as one of the biggest victories. Therefore he became as the youngest PM India ever had.

At beginning Singh won the election of Lok Sabha during the year 1971 and later he was made as the deputy minister of commerce by the PM Indira Gandhi. But when Indira Gandhi regained her PM post in 1980 he becomes the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh during 1980-1982 and after that, he continued his commerce minister post again in the year of 1983. Later he resigned from his post due to some issues and founded the Janata Dal a joining of three small parties. Thus he won the election in the 1989th year and become as the Prime Minister of India in 2nd December 1989.

Chandra Shekhar


Chandra Shekhar was born on July 1 in 1927 at Ibrahimpatti who is both legislator and politician. During 1964 he joined the ruling Congress Party right before that he was one of the leading members of the social party. In the year of 1977, he becomes the head of Janata Party which was headed by the Morarji Desai. But due to a rebellion, he broke his alliance with Janata and he formed Janata Dal Socialist Faction by the support of Rajiv Gandhi. After that, he becomes the Prime Minister of India in 1990. But later he resigned in 1991 soon after congress withdrawn its support.

P. V. Narasimha Rao

In the beginning, Narasimha arrived in politics as an activist of Congress party. Later he was served as the Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly during 1957 – 1977. Atal Bihari Vajpayee

He was 1st elected to the parliament member of Bharatiya Jana Sangh during the year of 1957, which later becomes as the BJP party. H. D. Deve Gowda


During the years of 1953-1962, he was one of the members of the Indian National Congress. But later he abandoned the party and got elected in the Mysore State legislative assembly. For a period of four continuous times, he was a member of the assembly. In the year of 1994, Gowda gained leadership of the Janata Dal party and he serves as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. By making an alliance with the Congress Gowda won the election that was held in the 1997 and served as the 11th Prime Minister of India.

Inder Kumar Gujral

After he becomes a member of Congress Party, in 1964 he started to serve in the Rajya Sabha until 1976. Later due to his issues with the government he resigned from his post and becomes the Soviet Union ambassador. However, in 1992 he entered the Rajya Sabha again and named as the external affairs minister. When Deve Gowda lost the Prime Minister post, Congress backed the Gujral and he becomes the 12th Prime Minister of India. Though he only remained in office for a short period of time and he resigned the post soon after Congress withdrew its support.

Manmohan Singh

Manmohan Singh is the only non-Hindu to serve as the Prime Minister of India. During 1970 he was selected for the economic advisory post for his unparalleled achievements in economics. Also, he has worked as the director of Reserve Bank of India from 1976 to 1980 and later he was named as the governor from 1982 to 1985. During the year of 1991, he served as the finance minister. When India was in the verge of economic collapse he reformed India’s economy.


He joined Rajya Sabha in the year of 1991 and later during 1999 he ran for the Lok Sabha but he got defeated. When Congress won the parliamentary election on May 2004, Sonia Gandhi declined the Prime Minister post and recommended the Manmohan for the PM post. Narendra Modi
